Twenty-eight folks in fifteen cars from the Lone Star and Fort Worth Sections attended the 2021 Hill Country Run overnighter in Burnet. We headquartered at the world-class Horseshoe Bay Resort, Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Many thanks to John and Adrian James for sponsoring us so we could stay and have dinner at this beautiful resort.
On Saturday, the Fort Worth and Lone Star Sections met up in Burnet for lunch at the Trailblazer Grill. After lunch, we opted for wine tasting at Wedding Oak Winery in downtown Burnet or some free time to enjoy the town. We then made our way to Horseshoe Bay Resort to check in, and had some time to relax, explore and enjoy this beautiful resort. Dinner was held at the resort’s Yacht Club. After dinner, we played Fort Worth Section’s In-Between Card Game, won by Jill Brown (Lone Star, Mercedes-Benz stemless wine glass set) and by Anna Clayton (Fort Worth, Mercedes-Benz champagne flute set). Ginny and Arno Pitzen, who organized the event, received a Mercedes-Benz interior detail kit as a special prize.
We also celebrated Arno Pitzen’s birthday, and announced Arno and Ginny as Fort Worth’s 2020 Members of the Year. The Pitzens are also members of the Fort Worth Section, and have significantly enhanced the Fort Worth membership experience.
On Sunday, we enjoyed a terrific scenic drive through the Hill Country. Our destination was the beautiful Flat Creek Estate Winery for lunch, wine-tasting and even more camaraderie.
After lunch, we headed home on our own.
